After I graduated from College, I did not find satisfaction in a traditional career path and always envisioned working with animals in some way or another. I was especially always drawn to German Shepherds and when I was finally able to do so, I got my dog, Baron, from a local breeder. With him, I took part in every class I could, from tricks to advanced obedience. When I realized I couldn’t get enough of the training, I searched for a mentor and potentially a job in my area.
My first job in dog training was for a busy kennel helping owners from anything to off leash reliability to behavior modification cases. This is also where I discovered my passion for IGP/Schutzhund and my love for the German Shepherd breed. Several years later I then started my own successful business that I ran in Arizona for 8 years. Since that time, I have been actively competing in IGP at a national level.
Combining my passion for helping others train their dogs and my love for preserving the breed is what led me to DLS. Here, I help run the breeding program and oversee all things training.
